Mixed precipitation will stretch across the South bringing an ice storm to the Southeast, as other parts of the South will see thunderstorms and rain, while snow spans from the northwest to the southwest and central US.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued numerous winter weather alerts for Tuesday that stretch from the Northwest to the Northeast.

A potential ice storm is forecast for the Southeast on Tuesday
Freezing rain is forecast for northeastern Georgia, northern South Carolina, eastern Tennessee and the western half of North Carolina.
Mixed precipitation will stretch from the nation’s midsection across the South, curving northward into parts of the Ohio Valley and descending back into the South and Southeast where it will bring freezing rain.
Mixed precipitation is forecast for Oklahoma, northern Texas, southern Arkansas, northern Mississippi, western and eastern Tennessee, much of Kentucky, southern and east central Illinois, southern Indiana, northeastern Georgia, northern South Carolina and the western half of North Carolina.

West: northern and northeastern Nevada; northern Utah; northwestern New Mexico; central and eastern Colorado.
Central & upper Midwest: The Texas Panhandle; northwestern and western Oklahoma; central and western Kansas; central Nebraska; northern and northeastern Michigan.
Thunderstorms are forecast along the Gulf Coast for Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle.
Rain is forecast for eastern Texas, southern Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, southern Kentucky, Georgia, South Carolina, western and southern North Carolina, as well as northeastern Florida.
